Video Guide for Obtaining a U.S. Visa
The B1/B2 visa is the most requested visa in the U.S. This is not surprising, as since 2014, this combined type of visa allows travel to America for tourism, attending conferences, business negotiations, medical treatment, and visiting friends and relatives, which is very convenient as it eliminates the need to apply for several different types of visas for each purpose separately.
Requirements for Obtaining a Visa
If you need a B1/B2 visa to the U.S., you will have to prove that you will return to Ukraine after your trip, as this entry permit is a non-immigrant visa type. According to this requirement, every Ukrainian applying at the embassy and wishing to obtain such a visa must demonstrate the following:
- that the purpose of their travel is solely for leisure, treatment, or settling important matters;
- that they have no intention to immigrate, meaning they have strong ties to their home country;
- that they have sufficient funds in their bank account to cover expenses for the entire duration of their stay in the country;
- that they agree to stay in the U.S. for a strictly limited period;
- that they have a residence in Ukraine and other obligations (social, economic, family ties) ensuring their return to their country after the visa expires.
All of the above will need to be communicated to the U.S. embassy officer during the interview. To successfully pass the interview, you can use the services of our company. Our many years of experience show that we truly know how to help our clients!
Visa Application Procedure
The B1/B2 visa to the U.S. is processed as follows:
- Preparation of the necessary document package. You can find the list of documents needed for the application below. Our company’s staff will check the prepared documents for compliance with the U.S. embassy’s requirements and can point out missing documents to prevent a denial.
- Payment of the consular fee of 160 dollars. This can only be done through a “Raiffeisen Bank Aval” branch, after downloading and filling out a deposit slip. Payment is made in cash, in hryvnias, based on the current exchange rate. After the payment, the bank will issue a receipt, the number of which is used for scheduling the interview. More details can be found here: www.ustraveldocs.com/ua_ru/ua-niv-paymentinfo.asp.
- Preparation of a 5×5 cm photograph. The image must reflect your current appearance, be taken within the last six months, and meet the embassy’s requirements.
- Filling out the DS-160 visa application form. The form is completed in English, following transliteration rules, and submitted electronically to the embassy for review. This must be done before the scheduled interview date. Once the form is fully completed, you will receive a barcode necessary for presentation at the embassy (the page with the unique barcode must be printed).
- Scheduling the interview. This can be done via the website or by phone through the call center.
- Submission of biometric data and attending the interview. After the interview, you will be immediately informed of the decision. You can collect your passport with the visa affixed 2-3 days after the interview. During this period, the embassy staff will review all your documents and verify the necessary information.
List of Documents
- A passport valid for at least 180 days beyond the planned travel duration and with at least one blank page.
- One color photograph measuring 50×50 mm, taken within the last 6 months;
- Printed confirmation of the scheduled interview date and time;
- Receipt of the consular fee payment.
- Printed page of the application with the unique ten-digit barcode, confirming the submission of the DS-160 form for review;

- Documents proving your intention to return to Ukraine after the trip (e.g., documents confirming property ownership, marriage certificate, birth certificates of children, etc.)
Certificates are accepted in the original language, and there is no need to translate them into English. All documents are verified for authenticity and accuracy of information.
The embassy officer reserves the right to request additional documents. The B1/B2 visa is issued only if all necessary documents are provided. The absence of any of them may lead to a denial of entry permission for this category!
