How to obtain a visa to the United States
Video Guide for Obtaining a U.S. Visa
To visit America, any citizen of Ukraine, like any other country, must obtain a U.S. visa, one of two types: non-immigrant or immigrant. A non-immigrant entry permit is intended for tourists, businesspeople, students, journalists, investors, workers, and other categories of individuals. In other words, for those who will be in the United States for a certain period, as determined by the consul. Before obtaining a non-immigrant U.S. visa, each applicant must demonstrate to the embassy officer their strong ties to their home country, both verbally during the interview and in documentation during the submission of documents. Obtaining an immigrant visa is simpler, and such a U.S. visa is easy to acquire. You and the inviting party (a U.S. citizen) will only need to submit all necessary petitions and applications, as well as gather a package of documents.
You can determine for yourself how difficult it is to obtain a U.S. visa by reading the step-by-step instructions below.
U.S. Visa Processing: From Document Preparation to Visa Receipt
Before obtaining an American visa, you should first assess your chances. U.S. embassy officers can find hundreds of reasons for which you might be denied. For example, with a clean passport, without a family in Ukraine, and without personal property or real estate, you won’t get far. Such individuals are seen by embassy officers as potential immigrants who are unlikely to return to their homeland.
If you are perceived as such an immigrant, in addition to being denied, you will not be refunded the money spent on the consular fee. In 2015, the consular fee is $160, which is a considerable amount for an average Ukrainian. Therefore, if you are unsure whether it is easy to obtain a U.S. visa with the documents you have, you can contact our company. We will assess your chances of obtaining a visa and advise you on any additional documents you may need to provide to the embassy for consideration.
