Examples of U.S. Visas Obtained Through the Vizaus Visa Center

A U.S. Business Visa for Ukrainian citizens allows visits to the country for the following purposes:

  • to meet with business partners;
  • to participate in meetings, conferences, and other business or educational events;
  • to negotiate contracts;
  • as a company representative to oversee a branch.

Today, the U.S. Embassy located in Ukraine generally issues a combined B-1/B-2 visa. It is intended not only for business trips but also for tourism and guest visits.

Nuances of Processing

The processing of a U.S. business visa occurs directly at the embassy, where you must provide convincing evidence that you intend to return to your home country after successfully resolving all your affairs abroad. In addition to discussing this topic with an embassy officer, you will need to bring certain documents to support your statements:

  • marriage/birth certificates or other documents confirming your family ties with a Ukrainian citizen;
  • documents confirming ownership of property and real estate in Ukraine;
  • other papers that can prove your intention to return to your home country after completing your business trip.

In addition to evidence of your return, you will need to provide documents that confirm your reasons for visiting America:

  • a certificate from your place of work (if you are an employee of a company);
  • copies of relevant business documents of a registered company/firm, as well as copies of tax payment documents (if you are the owner of a company/firm);
  • a written invitation from a private individual (business partner).

It will also be helpful to provide material or a detailed description of the topics and focus of the business meetings, conferences, or events you wish to attend during the interview.

Thus, the main goal is to convince the visa officer that there is:

  • a clear purpose for the trip;
  • strictly defined duration of stay in the U.S.;
  • intention to return to Ukraine by a specific date;
  • sufficient financial means for the trip;
  • no intention to immigrate and strong ties to the home country.

Application Procedure

Like any other entry permit to America, the B1 visa to the U.S. is processed in a standard manner.

Instructions on how to obtain a U.S. business visa:

  1. Document package formation. In addition to the previously listed mandatory documents for a business visa, you will need others, which you can find below. If you are unsure whether you have gathered all the necessary documents or doubt their compliance with the U.S. Embassy’s requirements, you can always seek assistance from our company’s staff. We will gladly help you form a correct and complete document package.
  2. Payment of the consular fee – for a business visa, the fee is 160 dollars and is payable in hryvnia at the exchange rate set by the embassy at the time of payment. This can only be done at a “Raiffeisen Bank Aval” branch, after downloading and filling out a deposit slip from the U.S. State Department’s website.
  3. Preparation of a 5×5 cm photograph. The image must reflect your current appearance, be taken within the last six months, and meet the embassy’s requirements.
  4. Filling out the visa application form. For a business visa, you will need to complete the DS 160 visa application form. It is filled out directly on the U.S. Embassy’s website via the internet. You will need to submit not the entire printed application but only one page with a unique barcode along with the documents. You can learn more about this during a consultation with our company.
  5. Scheduling an interview. This can be done either through the website or by phone, via the call center.
  6. Submission of documents and interview. Documents are submitted to the U.S. Embassy by appointment. Here you will also undergo the biometric data collection procedure and an interview, after which you will be notified of the visa issuance results.

Main Documents for Business Visa Processing

Documents from the inviting party

An invitation to a business event from the inviting company or private individual in America. This document should include all necessary details, including:

  • the name of the American company/branch;
  • the name of the inviter, whom the embassy staff in Ukraine can contact;
  • the exact address of the company/branch;
  • additional contact information (phone/fax number, e-mail, company/branch website address, if available);
  • the purpose of the trip (attending a conference, participating in business negotiations, etc.)

Documents from your side

  • A valid international passport with blank pages for the future visa (the document must be valid for at least 6 months after the planned trip ends). It will also be helpful to provide old international passports (copies) with any types of U.S. visas. This is needed to increase the chances of obtaining a new entry permit.
  • Copies of the internal national passport (pages with personal data and registration).
  • A photo (1 piece) sized 50×50 mm, taken on a white or light gray background within the last six months.
  • A certificate from your place of work on company letterhead indicating your position and salary for the last 6 months.
  • A bank statement showing the status of your bank account and the movement of your funds over 6 months. This is necessary to confirm that you can cover all your expenses while in America.
  • A bank receipt confirming the payment of the consular fee.
  • A printed page of the application with a ten-digit barcode, confirming the submission of the DS-160 application for review;
  • Other documents that will confirm your intentions to return to Ukraine (detailed information about such documents has already been provided above).

In all cases, preference should be given to originals. The list of documents is formed individually for each client, based on the purpose of the trip and the specifics of the case.

Visa Validity Period

The maximum period for which a U.S. business visa is issued is 10 years. The B1 (B1/B2) category refers to multiple-entry visas, allowing multiple entries into America throughout the validity of the permit document. The duration of each stay in the United States is determined by the border service officer upon crossing the border.

Important! Regardless of our company or you, the terms for which visas are issued may be adjusted by U.S. Embassy staff! For example, a U.S. B1 visa may be issued for a period of less than 10 years, down to several days or weeks.
